March 2025 — A SusGabe team is currently developing the Gabriola Climate Action Charter, a plan to allow individuals, businesses and organizations to make a clear public statement of their commitment to climate action, and help them take meaningful climate actions.
The plan includes:
- a Banner for public display, announcing announcing to all residents and visitors that Gabriola is a climate conscious community;
- a Certificate for people to put up on their wall, proudly announcing they have signed onto the Gabriola Climate Action Charter;
- a Climate Actions checklist that each person/business/organization can use to determine the “low-hanging” actions they can take to reduce their climate impact and adapt to coming changes;
As it progresses, the plan will involve feedback from businesses and the public. More info will be posted here as it comes available.
